To work with each student individually, with a focus on working around any physical limitations that may impede a textbook swing. This is not a one size fits all Instructional Academy. Your instructional experience will be customized just for you.
The goal is simple, first the game of golf should be fun and not frustrating and second, if you pay for professional instruction, you will improve with our methodology. It is our personal goal to ensure every student who comes through our academy will have a valuable, quality experience. It is our goal to have great PGA golf Instruction available and affordable to all.

Meet Our Instructors
PGA Master Professional
Lead Golf Instructor
John Brown is the Brown Golf McCord Academy Director of Instruction. He is a member of the PGA of America and has attained the PGA’s highest level of excellence, PGA Master Professional.
Mr. Brown is also one of a small number of PGA Professionals who have also attained the PGA’s Advanced Certification in the Art of Golf Instruction. He has provided around 100,000 golf lessons throughout his career to golfers of all skill levels, most notably numerous Club Champions, 5 State Champions, 3 Junior World Champions, dozens of Scholarship Collegiate Golfers, and numerous Tour level Touring Professionals.
Mr. Brown excels in his ability to help new and improving golfers to learn and enjoy the great game of golf. He is a big proponent in the use of video and launch monitor technology with his instruction and is a Certified Professional Club Fitter.
MGA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR
Adaptive Golf Certified
Danny Mapes is an MGA certified and adaptive golf certified instructor here at the Brown Golf McCord Academy. Originally from West Fargo, North Dakota, Danny graduated from the Golf Academy of America Orlando in 2016, receiving his degree in golf complex operations and management.
Danny was born with Spina Bifida, a birth defect in which there is incomplete closing of the spinal cord and membranes. He has overcome this challenge and over the years, has found his own unique way to play and teach golf. He is a self-taught golfer who started playing at age 13 with his older brothers. In September 2016, Danny began teaching weekly junior golf classes, and was the director of a junior golf program for kids with special needs for nearly three years. He has been a certified adaptive golf instructor since January 2017.
Danny received his McCord Golf Academy instructor certification in 2018 and he specializes in teaching golfers with disabilities. He strongly believes that golf is a game anyone can play, regardless of any challenges they may have to overcome.
